HZ KLASIKOA: A DAY TO REMEMBER

A weekend of cycling, community and shared passion at home

This past Sunday saw a new edition of the HZ Klasikoa, the cycling event led by Haimar Zubeldia that every year brings together riders of all levels to enjoy a demanding but beautiful route through the Basque Country. An event that has become a tradition for those who love cycling on the roads at home, in the spirit of teamwork, effort and community.

This year’s edition was especially meaningful as we welcomed some very special guests: the Kaptein Cycling Club from Amsterdam. On Friday, they visited our headquarters in Irura and got a firsthand look at how our garments are made, our design process, and the craftsmanship that defines Etxeondo. It was an inspiring meeting, filled with good conversations, laughs, food and a shared passion for cycling.

RACE DAY

On Sunday, Kaptein joined us on the road, riding the HZ Klasikoa route shoulder-to-shoulder with the Etxeondo team. The day was filled with sunshine, good legs, and even better spirits. The route, winding through mountains and local villages, told its own story—one of community, tradition, and cycling in its purest form.

We’re grateful to everyone who made this edition so special—especially Haimar for continuing to lead this beautiful initiative. And of course, to our friends from Kaptein: Beti ongi etorriak (always welcome on our roads).
