A group of customers from the Fietsspeciaalzaak Roelofs shop in Arnhem, the Netherlands, experience riding in the Basque Country and getting to know Etxeondo first hand.
Reaching 100 years is a milestone that few can boast of. Roelofs was founded in 1924 by Marc's great-grandfather, the current owner of the business. He started doing repairs in a small shop and in 1940 he opened a new one in the current location of the shop. In 1978, his father took over the business, at a time when Roelofs became a reference in the area offering a wide range of bicycles and accessories.
The Fietsspeciaalzaak Roelofs shop wanted to celebrate its centenary with a group of customers, with a trip to the Basque Country and Etxeondo, to discover first-hand its production processes and garment manufacturing. The day marked in red was Friday. A day to get to know Etxeondo's facilities, but not before discovering the territories where the company was born. So, after a brief breakfast, we set off on our bikes towards Larraitz.
The group had the surprise of several luxury guests: the professional riders from Kern Pharma Unai Iribar, from Laboral Kutxa Urko Vidal and Naia Amondarain and from Euskaltel Euskadi Team Unai Zubeldia. The cyclists encouraged the group to tackle the pass, enjoying the terrain to which they are not very accustomed.
The weather was fine and after an hour and a half's ride, the group arrived at Etxeondo. After a short break to regain strength, it was time to visit the offices and the production centre.
A unique experience in the Basque Country thanks to Etxeondo, the textile brand that did not want to miss Roelofs' centenary celebration and wishes them every success in the future.
